We internalize messages about individual defects but when we zoom out and look at the bigger picture of social structures, we see things differently.
How privilege gets displayed AND LEVERAGED in our social media feeds — in pictures of our hair, kids, counter-tops, vacations, dinners and everyday life.
Writing is a form of power. It gives us the ability to create new norms & realities. Copywriting, in particular, can change the trajectory of your business.
We feel shame if there is a social expectation that we feel we’re not meeting, and that’s why I think shame is a wildly helpful at understanding oppression.

In order to get access to rights and resources, every woman in our culture has to present herself as saleable, consumable object: we must brand ourselves.
I know that when I’ve wanted someone else’s life, it made me transactional, strategic, subservient, and sometimes envious. In other words: not a safe friendship or business bet.
And I know that when friends, lovers or colleagues wanted what I had, we always ended in conflict and destruction. Always.
The best thing we ever do is lean on each other and lift each other up because we are the culture makers, and together we rise.
The way we use our time is predetermined and overdetermined by our society and gender roles, and society frames our productivity as “personal choices.”
Entrepreneur spaces will often tell people with multiple passions and focuses that we are flaky, but I think we are cultivating a rich body of work.
