We are the Media Makers and the Culture Makers

The nefarious, sexist media isn’t ‘out there’. WE are media makers. We have blogs, podcasts, websites, photo shoots, selfies, sales funnels, email lists, social media accounts.

Every day we are creating images and messages that influence the people around us.

So what we do with our media MATTERS.

Even when we think our reach is small; even when we’re just trying to make some coin and pay the rent.

We have way more impact than we realize — and we can use our culture making power deliberately, to create change.

We often think, as feminists, in terms of how we are shaped by culture without our consent and how it damages us, AND IT DOES.

AND WE HAVE THE POWER TO REVOKE OUR CONSENT AND SHAPE BACK.

We are media makers.

We are the culture makers.

So let’s use what we’ve got to change everything.
